Hope you had a beatiful day! You know what holidays (or any day for that matter) means in my family… FOOD! Tonight my dad grilled ( I ate my body weight in ham) and then we roasted smores for dessert –

If you remember Mark and his dog are attached at the hip (or tail). We have had the winter and spring editions so far this year…. now I give you the summer version….

We all had a great time playing today,  Dale snapped this picture of Mark and I..markandmommy

giveaboyahoseand he will play for hours!

Dale is still on vacation, so he and Mark are enjoying some Daddy time. They enjoyed the beautiful May morning on Thursday outside. Following the given directions, Dale snapped some pictures of their day, This one in particular made me giggle…

Yes, that is his pajama top from yesterday, sweatpants and an apron. That kid has fashion sense! ( My brother is cringing!)

Today was my last day with kids and we were done at 10!  Mark decided to get up with me at 5:45! Dale took Mark and Simba to the dog park again to ensure we had a good nap. Those two are normally inseparable, today they apparently had a difference of opinion….

And this last picture from today…. made me laugh. Mark is really into gymnastics and was trying to do a forward roll. Since I used to be quite athletic and actually taught gymnastics to little kids, I showed him. Surprisingly, I didn’t kill myself!

Hi!

Mark

A deep breath

It is 9:30. My house is quite…. Dale and Mark are both asleep. Simba is passed out on the cool hardwood floor in the living room, and Sukey is snoring under my chair (big surprise there!) School is almost over and I feel like I am finally catching my breath. I love my job, but I am ready for a little (long) break.

Don’t get me wrong, I still plan on being busy, but less in a IEP writing, classroom managing, state accreditation visit  kind of way and more  in a Popsicle covered hugs,  firefly catching, ” Mommy, I need more juice” kind of way.  I can’t wait.

Since I have a few moments of quite bliss, I figured I would update our little blog.  With some new pictures– let’s see where did I leave off…….Oh, yes here we go..

Saturday (May 16)-If you know my family you (Bless you if you do, we are a group for sure) You will totally understand why this picture is posted…

Monday (May 18) Mark is done with daycare –remember? But I have a week unitll I am home, so today Mark got to hang out with his Nana, which of course, he loved. After dinner, we decided to play outside (as that is our favorite way to wear the engerizer bunny (mark) out) (and yes, we have two pairs of the EXACT same shorts)

Well that was our week. I hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!!!

sleepy-mark

Every night I sneak in and kiss Mark before I go to sleep. Tonight he looked so peaceful and calm, I had to take a picture. My mind quickly remembered the picture on the left. That was the first time I got to hold my new baby. He was tiny, had a whole bunch of wires and cords, and was not interested in food. Fast forward almost exactly 34 months…. My “new baby” is now I feisty almost 3 year old. Busy every minute, eats like a horse, tells me ” I not baby Mommy”.

One thing has not changed in these almost 3 years, I thank God everyday that he chose me to be Mark’s Mommy.
